(Kauai) – The Department of Water (DOW) has scheduled a one-hour water shutdown for Kapaa customers located on Lehua Street, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 25, weather permitting.
Water will be turned off to allow a private contractor to conduct waterline work in the area.
Affected customers will be notified through door to door notices, and are advised to store enough water to meet their needs during this scheduled water shutdown.
After the water main is turned back on, air and or existing sediment may be mixed into the water causing it to appear white or discolored. If this occurs, customers may flush water out through an outside hose bib until the water is clear.
