(Honolulu)–Showing their appreciation for local first-responders, staff members of Avalon Health Care delivered aloha on Friday with food and treats to Honolulu firefighters from Pawaa Fire Station, Makiki Fire Station and Kalihi Uka Fire Station.
According to Avalon officials, the gesture was an idea that residents and staff members came up with to say “mahalo” to firefighters for their efforts day by day. “This is a small token of appreciation for the wonderful work local firefighters do for our Avalon ohana and the community as a whole. We are so grateful for their tireless commitment and unwavering support,” said Avalon spokesperson Miguel Gonzalez.
Honolulu Fire Secretary Cecily Naval explained that firefighters were very appreciative by the act of kindness and pledged commitment to the entire community. “On behalf of the Honolulu Fire Department, thank you for your generosity and thoughtfulness in recognizing our fire personnel at the Makiki, Pawaa, and Kalihi Uka Fire Stations. I know our fire crews will definitely appreciate your kind gesture.”
Steve Gold, Avalon Regional Vice President for the Hawaii Region, said the company has deep roots within the community and will continue to work with local organizations to recognize and salute those who risk their lives for others. “We are fortunate to live and do business in a wonderful community. The spirit of aloha is present in our facilities and staff. Rest assured, we will continue to recognize the service of those unsung heroes.”
