(WAILUA) – The public is advised that geotechnical work will be performed at Lydgate Park on Jan. 22 and at Lydgate Park Sport Fields from Jan. 24 to 26 to allow the county Wastewater Management Division to evaluate the subsurface soil conditions at each site.
The location of the work at Lydgate Park will be on the mauka end of the park in the large grassy area. The location of the work at the Lydgate Park Sport Fields will be located throughout the field. The work will be performed in a manner to minimize impact to the public as much as possible.
The work will consist of geotechnical borings and percolation tests. The geotechnical borings will consist of up to 12 borings at each site and will be approximately four inches in diameter and six feet deep. One of the borings will determine the depth of groundwater. Percolation tests will also be performed at each boring location. The borings will be backfilled upon completion of the work.
