(Maui)– About 700 bags of food were distributed today, April 24, to individuals impacted by COVID-19 in Central Maui.
The distribution was a joint effort with VIP Foodservice, Island Movers, Mahi Pono, Maui Chemical, Maui Soda & Ice Works, Valley Isle Fellowship Pastor Stephen Kaneshiro, the Hawaii National Guard, Maui Police Department, and the Maui County Department of Parks & Recreation.
Well over 3,000 bags of food have been distributed to communities across Maui County.
“Although we’ve held many of these food distributions to assist our people in need, I continue to be blown away by the generosity of our local businesses and volunteers,” Mayor Michael Victorino said. “None of these events would have been possible without the help of all our partners and County departments, who continue to step up in our greatest time of need.”
