(HONOLULU) – The City and County of Honolulu Department of Environmental Services (ENV) has completed repairs to a force main break at the Pacific Palisades Pump Station located at 1925 Lanikeha Place.
The break occurred at approximately 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 10 while crews were on site. Response efforts began immediately to contain the spill and control wastewater flows to the pump station in order to take the force main temporarily out of service. The spill was fully contained by 11:45 a.m. Crews completed repairs by 7:40 p.m. on Feb. 10.
The total volume released was 400 gallons, with 100 gallons going into Waimano Stream and 300 gallons disapating into the ground. The area was fully cleaned, disinfected, and deodorized by 9 p.m. Feb. 10.
Warning signs that were posted as a precaution were taken down Friday morning, Feb. 13. The State Department of Health has been notified and there are no ongoing impacts from the spill.
