(Honolulu)– Moderate to locally fresh trade winds will persist through the week, thanks to a ridge of high pressure anchored to our north. Clouds and showers will continue to favor windward and mauka areas. A few moderate showers could develop today, but stable conditions will keep rainfall on the light side the rest of the week.
Portions of the northwest Hawaiian islands will likely experience showers and thunderstorms with gusty winds into Tuesday when the upper low and associated surface low are both centered west-northwest of Kauai begins to track west.
Showers will favor windward and Big Island Kona slopes this week.
Highs will be between 80-85 degress this week, with overnight lows in the low 70s.
