(Mililani) – Live characters from the popular book series “Little Kahuna and Da Menehune” visited Wednesday with students from Mililani Mauka Elementary School to promote reading, values, respect and kindness.
In addition, Keoki, Kai and Leilani, all characters from the popular series, donated books that will be used by students of the elementary school to learn about Hawaiian heritage and positive values.
Students from Ms. Snavely’s fourth grade class were treated to a meet and greet with the live characters in addition to a live reading of the books.
To date, the authors of the series have donated books to 236 schools in the islands.
Authors Tom Aki and Elizabeth Lee bring to life the adventures of Little Kahuna and Da Menehune through picture and chapter books with one mission in mind: to share Hawaiian values with keiki.
