(Kauai)– In recognition of April being Fair Housing Month, the Housing Agency is offering free training on the trends and changes in the Fair Housing law.
Landlords, tenants, resident and property managers, association board members, housing agents, as well as the general public are encouraged to attend this event.
The workshop is scheduled on Tuesday, April 23, at the Lîhue Civic Center, Piikoi Building, conference rm. A/B. Registration starts at 8 a.m. The workshop will be split into two sessions with the 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. session covering a broad overview of the Fair Housing Act, followed by a session focusing on the landlord/tenant section of the law, from 1 to 4 p.m.
Featured speakers include representatives from the Hawaii Civil Rights Commission, Legal Aid Society of Hawaii, and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Anyone interested in attending the Fair Housing training should pre-register by April 17. Space for the event is limited.
