(Honolulu) – Kaiser Permanente Hawaii today announced the addition of four new physicians who join over 500 physicians and providers of the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group (HPMG), the state’s largest multi-specialty medical group, providing comprehensive care to Kaiser Permanente’s 227,000-plus members.
New physicians on Oahu include Thanasak Sueblinvong, MD, a specialist in gynecologic oncology, and Cheryl Villareal, MD, a specialist in emergency medicine. Both are practicing at the Moanalua Medical Center.
On Maui, new physicians are Drosie Rosaro, MD, a specialist in internal medicine practicing at Maui Lani Clinic, and Brett Shapiro, MD, an ophthalmologist practicing at the Wailuku Clinic.
Dr. Thanasak Sueblinvong earned his medical degree from Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand. He completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology followed by gynecologic oncology training at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital in Bangkok. He subsequently joined University of Hawaii OBGyn residency program, which he completed in 2009. Dr. Sueblinvong is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Thai board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Thai Sub-Board of Gynecologic Oncology. He completed his initial fellowship in gynecologic oncology at the Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital and then a second fellowship at the University of Minnesota.
Dr. Cheryl Villareal earned her medical degree from Wayne State University in Detroit and completed her residency in emergency medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Dr. Villareal is board certified in emergency medicine by the American Board of Emergency Medicine. She most recently worked with Pacific Emergency Physicians.
Dr. Drosie Rosaro earned her medical degree from the University of Santo Tomas, in Manila, Philippines and completed her residency in internal medicine at the Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, NJ. Dr. Rosaro is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Brett Shapiro earned his medical degree from and completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of California San Francisco. He completed his cornea fellowship at the University of California Davis.
