(Honolulu)– Kaiser Permanente Hawaii announced new leaders for the Sales and Account Services Department of the state’s largest integrated care organization, including Melissa Skoczylas as Director of Account Management; Clint Wadsworth, who has been promoted to Director of Sales; Kehau Giles as Manager of Sales; Michelle Lewellen, who was promoted to Manager, Account Management, Mid-size Group Market; and Cherie O’Connor as Manager, Sales & Marketing Operations.
In her new role as Director of Account Management, Melissa Skoczylas will lead the team for small, mid-size and large group accounts to execute established sales strategies. She most recently was with Kaiser Permanente’s Northwest Region where she was the top sales performer in 2012 and top-ten performer in 2011. Prior to that, she served as an account executive at Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon. She earned a master’s in teaching from George Fox University in Newberg, Ore. and a bachelor’s in marketing and international business from University of Evansville in Ill.
Clint Wadsworth was promoted from Sales and Account Service Manager to Director of Sales, responsible for leading Kaiser Permanente Hawaii’s sales team, and developing and implementing strategies to ensure regional membership targets and sales objectives. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente Hawaii in 2011, he was a partner in the benefits firm of Human Capital, Inc. in Utah. His 14 years of health care and benefits consulting experience also includes sales positions with a property and casualty insurer in Arizona, and in sales for a private insurer and a benefits firm, both in Utah.
As manager of sales, Kehau Giles will be responsible for the day to day management of sales team and work to enhance relationships with regional brokers and create new sales distribution channels. She joins Kaiser Permanente from Pacific Administrators, Inc., where she served as account executive and operations manager. Giles has over 10 years of managerial experience in the health care industry, including serving as primary account manager and plan expert for large multi-employer health and welfare clients, and developing a network of over 2,000 medical providers. Giles earned her bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. She is a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP) and is an active volunteer for the Hawaii Union Builders (HUB).
Michelle Lewellen has been promoted to Manager, Account Management, Mid-size Group Market accountable for providing the leadership to achieve long-term sustainable growth and customer loyalty within this market. Most recently, she served as an Account Manager on the mid-size market team. Her diverse work experience includes over 15 years of account management and operations experience in the technology industry as well as in health care delivery as a registered nurse with the Blood Bank of Hawaii and with Kaiser Permanente at its Waipio Clinic and Moanalua Medical Center. Lewellen holds bachelor’s degrees from Santa Clara University (marketing) and Samuel Merritt University (nursing), both in California.
Cherie O’Connor brings more than 30 years of insurance and health care payer industry experience to Kaiser Permanente Hawaii. As Manager, Sales & Marketing Operations, she is responsible for the day-to-day sales support activities of the Sales Operations Department. She joins Kaiser Permanente from Ebix Health of Honolulu, where she served as Sales Executive and Senior Solutions Consultant for domestic and international sales claims systems. Her experience also includes working for two major group life and health insurance carriers managing the day-to-day operations of a variety of departments. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Mills College in Oakland, Calif.
