(WAINIHA) – The Department of Public Works is announcing that construction work will begin on Wainiha Powerhouse Road on Oct. 12 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, as needed.
Dates and times are subject to change depending on weather and other conditions.
Contracted with Earthworks Pacific, Inc., the scope of work includes several culvert replacements, existing box culvert repair, slope stabilization, paving, and guardrail replacement/installation.
Road closures will be brief and announced on the message board at the intersection of Powerhouse Road and Kūhiō Highway. If needed, transportation will be provided through the work zone with pickup and drop-off at your residence and intersection with Kūhiō Highway. Please provide a minimum of 1-hour notice for all transportation requests. For requests, call Devin Quinn at 808-720-0407.
Motorists and residents are requested to use caution when traveling through the area, observe all traffic controls and posted signs, and stay alert for construction personnel and equipment.
