(Kauai)– Mayor Derek S. K. Kawakami has signed the first supplementary emergency proclamation on May 26, 2020, for the County of Kaua‘i as a result from flash flooding during the March 2020 rain event on March 27-28, 2020.
The first supplementary emergency proclamation further declares the provisions of the previous emergency proclamation. The disaster emergency relief period shall now continue until terminated 60 days after May 26, 2020, or by a separate proclamation – whichever comes first.
The purpose of the emergency proclamation is to provide continued relief for disaster damages, losses, and suffering, and to protect the health, safety, and welfare of Kaua‘i residents and visitors.
