(Waikiki)– A party was held Friday night to celebrate the crowning of Mrs. Hawaii 2011 Lara Leimana Fonoimoana named the the new Mrs. America 2011.
Fonoimoana said to be “very proud to take on the tittle.” Dozens of invited guests celebrated Fonoimoana and the new title.
Shana Peete assumed the title of Mrs. Hawaii. According to organizers, Peete is Hawaii’s first African-American title holder in more than 20 years and she said she was “honored to represent the Aloha state.”
