(Hawaii)– This past weekend, the Orleans Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas hosted the 2016 Super Toy Con. There was a smorgasbord of pop culture greatness in which to sample and delight from. This included cosplayers, comic book artists, TV and movie actors, WWE superstars, past and present, as well as MMA superstar, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, and, of course, every toy and collectible imaginable.
The event, which spanned the whole weekend, had something for just about every type of fan. There were autograph sessions with many iconic figures of pop culture, including actors from the original Power Rangers, and Battlestar Galactica, all the way to actors from The Flash and The Walking Dead TV series, even Sam Jones, Flash Gordon himself was in attendance. There were also photo ops with cosplayers, contests and giveaways. The exhibit floor, though not being as large as other cons, made up for it with its diversity of booths and live action pro wrestling ring. That’s right! A live pro wrestling match was on display for all to be entertained. All in all, not as large of scale as other cons, but made up for it by creating more of an intimate interaction with some of your fan favorites and sports figures.
After descending from the mezzanine, which was the autograph and photo op area, we entered the exhibit room floor. It was a nice selection of booths, which included collectibles, clothing, art, and just about every other thing related to pop culture. A nice array of artists who were more than willing to turn out a quick sketch for the fans all the way to one of a kind handmade collectibles were yours for the taking. I am looking forward to seeing what the Super Toy Con does for 2017.
