(HONOLULU) – The aloha spirit was present this week when Hawaiian Host® donated over 3,500 boxes of chocolates to Kamalani Academy in Central Oahu and The Salvation Army’s Kroc Center in West Oahu.
“We are delighted to partner up with these two wonderful community organizations,” Hawaiian Host Group Director of Corporate Communications Margie Jacinto said. “Hawaiian Host has a long history of giving back to the community and we look forward to continuing to make a positive impact in Hawai‘i.”
Kamalani Academy Community Liaison Colleen Chapman said the donation was an unexpected and welcomed surprise for the school in Wahiawa. “We are grateful for the wonderful donation of product to our organization. We intend to spread aloha in the community with this donation by sharing chocolates with our students and kahakōgroups we hold relationships with locally.”
Kroc Center’s Ministry Director Rick Ahn explained the donation was a blessing for local West Oahu families. “We look forward to ensuring Hawaiian Host is properly recognized as a partner in our efforts. Interestingly, we have a Thanksgiving drive-by feeding coming up and (the) donation will be a significant part of blessing our local families.”
Margie explained the current need in the community is significantly higher this year and, in the spirit of the season, encouraged other corporations and businesses to give what they can to deserving organizations. “As part of our responsibility to be good corporate citizens, Hawaiian Host® is proud to partner with organizations in the community,” Margie said. “We are committed to making a lasting impact in the communities where our associates and our customers call home.”
