(Hawaii)–Hale Nani Rehab and Nursing Center Director of Nursing Fely Pula receives the Covid-19 vaccine (pictured).
Hale Nani began to hold vaccination clinics this week and according to Regional Vice President Tina Irwin, the inoculation drive will continue in the coming weeks in partnership and coordination with CVS pharmacy. Staff and residents were grateful and emotional about the long-awaited arrival of the vaccine.
Pula recently celebrated her 40 year anniversary at Hale Nani, demonstrating her ongoing commitment to caring for Hawaii’s kupuna. Over her long nursing career, Pula has lived through many crises, but none as relentless as the COVID-19 pandemic. Like many other health care workers, Pula has selflessly placed herself on the front lines in the battle against the virus. “This vaccine is a vaccine of hope. Hope to protect kupuna, hope to protect ohana,” Pula stated after receiving her vaccine.
