(Maui)– The 17th Annual Maui Disability Alliance Issues Forum will be held Thursday, September 13, 2012, at the Maui Waena Intermediate School Cafeteria, 795 Onehee Avenue, Kahului from 4:00 – 6:30 p.m.
Maui and Hawai`i government officials and candidates at the State and County levels are invited to participate. So far, Mayor Arakawa, Council members Gladys Baisa, Elle Cochran, Michael Victorino, Senators Shan Tsutsui, Roz Baker, Kalani English, State Representatives Joe Souki and Angus McKelvey have confirmed their attendance.
The public is also invited to this free event. There will be light refreshments, a panel discussion on employment, transportation, education, early childhood, medical, and housing issues in addition to taking questions from the audience.
Attendees will be able to meet their representatives at the State and County level. People with disabilities and their families will be able to share their experiences.
