(HONOLULU)- Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii (BGCH) is pleased to announce that they have been selected as an official partner of Payless GivesTM Shoes 4 Kids, an annual giving program from Payless ShoeSource. BGCH will distribute 200 merchandise certificates for children’s shoes to youth and their families this holiday season. Youth will participate in a shoe-shopping trip at Payless ShoeSource, where they will enjoy selecting their own pair of free new shoes. For many youth accustomed to used and hand-me-down shoes, this will be their first pair of new shoes.
Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii’s mission to inspire youth to become responsible citizens encourages young people to further themselves in academic success, good character and citizenship, and healthy lifestyles. “Our youth are so excited to be able to pick out a pair of brand new shoes! Whether to use at our sports events, holiday parties, or around school, Payless has truly made our members feel special and worthy of nice, new things. That feeling of worth is invaluable and we are so thrilled to receive support from Payless again this year,” said Tim Motts, BGCH President & CEO.
This is the seventh year of the Payless GivesTM Shoes 4 Kids program. Although studies show that properly fitting shoes are important for children’s health and development, a striking number of children don’t own a pair of shoes that fit.
By helping families who struggle to provide their children with basic essentials on a daily basis, BGCH in partnership with Payless GivesTM Shoes 4 Kids program hopes to relieve some of the stress parents feel during the holidays and bring joy to as many children as possible.
