(LĪHU‘E) – The Committee on the Status of Women (CSW) will host a workshop on Thursday, Jan. 29 that was developed to help women unleash their potential and become successful in their professional, financial and personal lives.
The event, titled “I Matter: This is My Year”, will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Līhu‘e Civic Center, Mo’ikeha Building, Meeting Room 2A/B.
Facilitating the workshop will be empowerment coach Savita Kumar.
“This workshop is for women who feel stuck and would like to improve various aspects of their lives, e.g. their job, finances, health, or relationships,” said Kumar.
Kumar is a former member of the Committee on the Status of Women who is committed to helping women take charge of their lives and be able to share their unique strengths with their families and communities.
Growing up in India, Kumar always had a burning curiosity about the world. She trained as a scientist, receiving masters’ degrees in microbiology and botany. Though she has always been fascinated by the scientific world, her true passion has always been people.
The CSW is part of the Hawai‘i State Commission on the Status of Women, which strives to advance the status of women and girls by acting as a catalyst for positive change through advocacy, education, collaboration and program development.
The CSW meets on the third Wednesday of the month. The next scheduled meeting is on Jan. 21, 5 p.m., Līhu‘e Civic Center, Mo’ikeha Building, Meeting Room 2A/2B.
All CSW meetings are open to the public.
