(Oahu)– The word at Bar 35 this new year is “REFRESH”. Drop by and you will notice new art, different furniture and lighting, and a new approach to cocktails. Taking time to refresh is naturally what you do as one of the trail blazing establishments on Hotel Street that helped turn what was once a foreboding area into one of Honolulu’s hippest nightlife districts. Bar 35 opened its doors ten years ago with the vision of being a welcoming space where you could learn about and sample beers from around the world (well before the craft beer and brew pub craze hit Hawaii’s shores).
Bar 35 remains true to its roots, with a menu of over 200 beers that is constantly being refreshed. Weekly beer tasting, guest appearances by brewers and beer experts, along with other beer-focused events are always on the calendar. And if you are not sure where to start, our beer-loving staff can help you find the beer to quench your curiosity and thirst.
To keep evenings interesting, Bar 35 offers a busy calendar of events to entertain and inspire. Here is what’s scheduled for the rest of January:
Friday, January 16 (every 3rd Friday)
Soulgasm. It’s a night with Honolulu’s best House DJs and impromptu freestyle dancing. We dare you to try staying still! Cover after 9PM.
Saturday, January 17
DJ Dsol. Starts at 9PM. No cover.
Tuesday, January 20 (every Tuesday)
Pizza + Wine Night. Choose your favorite pizza, handmade by Chef Valentini and add a full bottle of wine for just $25. Great for groups. Available starting at 6PM.
Wednesday, January 21 (every Wednesday)
House of Brews. Honolulu’s longest running weekly beer tasting. Six different beer, all selected around a specific theme that changes weekly, plus free appetizers. A half-hour of “Beer University” starts at 6PM, where you can go deep into the world of beer and beer making and even sample something special. Followed by the beer tasting at 6:30PM. Be sure to ask about Wednesday’s Pint Nite. You keep the glass (while they last) and keep it filled for $5 per glass.
Wednesday, January 21 (every Wednesday)
Stripped Down: Acoustic Night. Live, local acoustic music. A chill way to celebrate Hump Night. Music starts at 8PM. No cover.
Thursday, January 22 (every Thursday)
Live at 35. Live bands and solo performers. This month, Mike Huhn and Freedoms Progress (2/22) and Johnny Bernard (1/29). Music starts at 8PM. No cover.
Thursday, January 29 (usually 1st and 3rd Thursda; exception this month)
Speakeasy: Cigars and Whisky. Cigar fans take over the outdoor patio bar and enjoy cigars from Honolulu Cigar Company and a selection of featured whiskies. All available ala carte. No cover.
Saturday, January 31
80s Pop Muzik. DJ Nocturna and Lana Saldania presents Sunway, performing a 80s tribute set, along with her own hits. Music starts at 9PM. $5 cover. More information at www.djnocturna.com.

Honolulu’s Happiest Happy Hour. Starts at 4PM and runs through 10PM Monday through Fridays and 6PM to 10PM on Saturdays. Seriously good deals on well cocktails, wine and beer. Chef Valentini’s pizza and beer bites (edamame, EuroFries, chicken bites and crostini) also on special the first hour after opening every night (except First Friday).
