(Oahu)– The Hawaii Foodbank received a fifth consecutive 4-star rating – the highest honor achieved by only four percent of all charities in the nation – from Charity Navigator, America’s premier charity evaluator. A 4-star rating from Charity Navigator means your donation to the Foodbank is handled by an organization that practices:

Charity Navigator’s fifth consecutive 4-star rating designates the Foodbank as an exceptional charity that outperforms its peers and is worthy of the public’s trust and support. Last year, 95 percent of all Foodbank expenses fed the hungry in Hawaii.

The Hawaii Foodbank is the only nonprofit 501(c)(3) agency on Oahu that collects, warehouses and distributes mass quantities of both perishable and nonperishable food to help feed Hawaii’s hungry. Donated and purchased foods are distributed to over 200 member agencies on Oahu and Kauai. Last year, the Hawaii Foodbank distributed over 13 million pounds of food including over 4.4 million pounds of fresh produce to those needing emergency food assistance in Hawaii.
The Hawaii Foodbank is the state’s only affiliate of Feeding America, the national Food Bank Network comprising more than 200 food banks across the country.
