(Honolulu)— Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii (BGCH) President & Chief Executive Officer Tim Motts and Corporate Board members Todd Apo and Anne Barnes attended Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday, March 18. Leaders from Major Metro Boys & Girls Clubs organizations gathered in our nation’s capitol to meet with members of Congress to advocate for America’s kids.
“It’s important that Boys & Girls Clubs from around the country gather together with a united voice to talk with our leaders about the importance of out-of-school time and enabling America’s youth to achieve Great Futures,” said Motts. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to represent Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii to ensure we raise visibility of the needs of the 4 million kids we serve, and the more than 11 million youth with no place to go after school.”
This collective movement serves as an opportunity for Boys & Girls Clubs to build awareness and garner support in their mission to enable all young people to reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.
National Advocacy Day began with a luncheon on Tuesday with Boys & Girls Clubs of America President & CEO Jim Clark. Club leaders attended scheduled meetings on Capitol Hill with their respective members of Congress.
