(Honolulu)– Tori Richard Ltd. is celebrating the first-ever Contempo #ArtShop by offering Tori Richard fans a free membership to the Honolulu Museum of Art.
June 22 – 28, shoppers who spend $100 or more at Tori Richard Ala Moana (in-store only) enjoy the gift of a free one-year membership to the Honolulu Art Museum, courtesy of Tori Richard.
Contempo #ArtShop is a multifaceted event that will take over the exhibition space at the Honolulu Museum of Art’s beautiful Spalding House location June 18-28. An invitation-only opening-night party will be followed by nine days of free exciting art programming (see honolulumuseum.org/artshop for a complete listing); the line-up of art and programs will allow the public to mix and mingle with artists, curators, and collectors and hopefully develop their art appreciation. Visitors can attend seminars and artist talks, and see art demos.
The art on view in the galleries—by local and international up-and-comers, mid-career trailblazers, and established masters—will also be available for purchase in a price range to suit all budgets, with prices starting at $100. Art on view will include works by such internationally known artists as Jane Hammond, Robert Kushner and Masami Teraoka; Giant Robot stars Luke Chueh, Martin Hsu, Rob Sato, and Yoskay Yamamoto; and by big Hawai‘i-based names such as Bumpei Akaji, Yvonne Cheng, Sally French, Sanit Khewhok, Rick Mills, Carl Pao, Maya Lea Portner, and Lawrence Seward.
The goal is to connect people to the museum’s mission and to understand the important role the Honolulu Museum of Art plays in the betterment of our community. The event is ultimately a cycle of art education, serving to educate people about art while the art sale in turn raises funds for the museum’s education programs.
“Tori Richard is thrilled to sponsor Contempo #ArtShop,” says Josh Feldman, CEO and president of Tori Richard. “We’ve been celebrating art and artists for 60 years—each Tori print is a piece of wearable art—and we’re a huge supporter of the Honolulu Museum of Art’s mission to make art, and art education, accessible to all.”
