(Kauai) – County officials announced today that applications are now being accepted online at www.kauai.gov for the summer youth programs.
This year, the county is using one application for the Summer Enrichment Program, Summer Intern Program, and the Department of Water Summer Intern Program to streamline the process.
The deadline to apply for all of the programs is Sunday, May 15.
The Summer Enrichment Program will run from June 13 to July 22. Positions in this program include: program coordinator; inclusion specialist; east and west coordinators; site managers; recreation aides; ADA recreational aide; custodian; and summer pool lifeguards. The summer pool lifeguard positions will be available from June 1 to July 30.
Additionally, there will be a golf program coordinator and golf recreation aide for the Golf Program, which runs from June 13 to July 22.
The county’s in-house Summer Intern Program will run from June 16 to July 31. Based on funding, opportunities for internships may be available in the Office of the Mayor and the Finance, Police, Fire, Parks and Recreation, Planning and Public Works departments.
The Department of Water’s summer internships may include positions in accounting, engineering, computers and office/general business. The program dates vary by department.
Those selected for employment in the summer youth programs must meet pre-employment requirements that are applicable to the respective positions prior to their employment.
