(Honolulu) — Mayor Kirk Caldwell today will proclaim March 5 – March 12, 2017 as Hawai‘i Says NO MORE week in the City and County of Honolulu.
The proclamation ceremony will be held this morning at 11 a.m. at Honolulu Hale in the Mayor’s Office. Mayor Caldwell will be joined by Maile Zambuto, National Chief Executive Officer of Joyful Heart Foundation, and other officials who are dedicated to ending domestic violence. The media is invited to attend.
Two years ago, the Joyful Heart Foundation joined 14 of Hawai‘i’s leading government and non-profit organizations to launch Hawai‘i Says NO MORE, a collaboration of individuals, programs, and organizations around Hawaiʻi who are taking action to increase awareness and visibility to prevent and end domestic violence and sexual assault.
Hawai‘i Says NO MORE Week includes efforts and events across the state. In honor of Hawai‘i Says NO MORE Week, Honolulu Hale will be lit in the NO MORE blue color for the entire week.
“It’s about all of us coming together as one community to say this type of violence has got to stop,” said Mayor Caldwell.
