(Kauai)– The Kauai Police Activities League (K-PAL) is accepting registrations for boxing and jiu jitsu classes, including a new all-girls boxing program.
The new all-girls boxing class is offered to youth from Kindergarten to 12th grade, and includes self-defense, personal safety awareness and boxing techniques. Classes are held at the K-PAL Lihue Youth Center and Boxing Gym, on Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The juvenile boxing classes for youth from Kindergarten to 12th grade are held at the K-PAL Lihue Youth Center and Boxing Gym, Monday through Wednesday, at various times between 5 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. Hanapepe classes are held at the Hanapepe Boxing Gym, Monday through Thursday, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Jiu jitsu classes start on Sept. 8, and are offered to youth grades 8 through 12. Classes will be held at the K-PAL Kapaa Youth Center on Fridays, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Registration is ongoing for all K-PAL classes and forms can be obtained online at www.kauai.gov/police or by emailing kpal@kauai.gov. A full schedule of classes with specific dates and times can be viewed at the above website link. The fee to register for classes is $25.
