(Maui)— Ka Lima O Maui’s 7th Annual Job Fair for persons with disabilities is set to take place Thursday, October 18th, following the success of last year’s amazing community attendance.
Held each October, National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) is a time to celebrate the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities. The theme for this year is: “America’s Workforce: Empowering All”
This year’s job fair will take place at the Wailuku Community Center from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and is open to all abilities. Our goal is to have between 30 to 35 employers present. Last year we had over 250 job seekers.
Job seekers will have a chance to win a $100 gift card (donated by Sears) as well as other raffle prizes for attending. A Public Address System will be available and will visit employers that are willing to discuss a little about their company and job opportunities that are available.
With last month’s reported unemployment rate for the Island of Maui being 2.6%, we understand finding qualified candidates may be an issue. Our goal is to help you find valuable employees along with a great networking opportunity.
