Lanikai parking restrictions implemented for New Year’s weekend

(KAILUA)– The City and County of Honolulu Department of Transportation Services (DTS) will be restricting parking in Lanikai between 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Thursday, January 1^st to Sunday, January 4^th, 2026, in an effort to reduce traffic congestion for residents along the Lanikai-Kaʻōhao shoreline for the New Year weekend.

No parking will be allowed on all streets and shoulders of Mokulua and ʻAʻalapapa Drives in Lanikai starting January 1^st from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. until January 4^th.

Parking will also be restricted on cross-streets connecting Mokulua and ʻAʻalapapa Drives.

DTS will leave in place temporary “sawhorse” type signs on affected streets in Lanikai to warn drivers of the parking restrictions.
