(Kauai)– In its continuing effort to prevent drug abuse, the County of Kaua’i will be participating in the Drug Enforcement Administration’s upcoming National Prescription Drug Take Back Drive.
Anyone that has expired or unused prescription drugs is encouraged to bring his or her medications in during the event. Tablets, capsules, and all other solid dosage forms will be accepted. The service is free and will be provided with no questions asked.
The event will be held on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kaua’i Police Department headquarters in Lîhu’e.
Over the last two years, more than 774 tons of expired and unused prescription drugs have been collected and removed from circulation in the United States through the National Take Back Initiative.

Anyone requiring special assistance or an auxiliary aid in order to participate in the Take Back drive should contact Koki at least seven days prior to the event.
