(North Shore, Oahu)–Massive crowds came out today to the North Shore to witness 20 to 25 foot waves in the seasons first round of monster swells.
Crowds of both tourist and locals gathered mainly around Sunset Beach and Shark’s Cove to witness mother nature’s raw power.
North Shore lifeguards had a very busy day in protecting onlookers and those brave enough to enter the rigid waters.
There was even an instance at Sunset Beach where a group of lifeguards had to rescue a couple of inexperienced swimmers who underestimated the power of the water. Lifeguards employed the use of a Sea-Doo watercraft to rescue the swimmers.
Lifeguards expect these conditions to remain as a front continues to pressure the Pacific Ocean.
