(Kaneohe)– Kaiser Permanente Hawaii broke ground today and held a traditional Hawaiian blessing at its Koolau clinic in Kaneohe. The ceremony marks the start of an expansion and renovation project that will give Windward residents access to cutting edge medical services.
“This beautiful new facility will make it easier for our members to access quality health care all under one roof,” said Janet Liang, President of Kaiser Permanente Hawaii. “This expansion project positions us well for future growth and demonstrates our long-term commitment to our members and the communities we serve.”
The renovation and expansion project will add 6,000 square feet to Koolau clinic including new exam rooms and increased pharmacy counter space. Improved patient traffic flow throughout the clinic and modernized interiors will feature Kaiser Permanente’s “Total Health Environment” with bright, open spaces designed for healing and wellness. Upgraded equipment and lighting will also improve the energy efficiency of the facility. The new facility will encompass more than 17,000 square feet and is anticipated for completion in late 2013.
