(Honolulu) – Kaiser Permanente Hawaii announced the addition of two new specialists who join over 500 physicians and providers of the Hawaii Permanente Medical Group (HPMG), the state’s largest multi-specialty medical group, providing comprehensive care to Kaiser Permanente’s 227,000-plus members. They are Kelly Kawaoka, MD, a specialist in internal medicine, and Karen Yamaguchi, DPM, a specialist in podiatry. Both are practicing on Oahu.
Dr. Kelly Kawaoka earned her medical degree from the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine and completed her residency in internal medicine-pediatrics at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California. She most recently served as an attending physician in the outpatient clinics and newborn nursery at Loma Linda University Faculty Physicians and Surgeons. Dr. Kawaoka is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics and is practicing at Kaiser Permanente’s Waipio Clinic.
Dr. Karen Yamaguchi earned her medical degree from California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. She completed her residency in podiatric surgery at Kaiser Foundation Hospitals in Santa Clara and Sacramento, Calif. Dr. Yamaguchi is certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and the American Society of Podiatric Surgeons. She most recently worked in private practice in Laredo, TX. and now practices at Kaiser Permanente’s Moanalua Medical Center.
