(North Shore)–Spirited and meaningful yoga sessions were the staple of the second day at the Wanderlust Festival at Turtle Bay Resort.
Attendants to this meditation minded event had the opportunity to take an array of yoga-foundation classes designed to enhance the practice of the estimated 2,000 participants of this festival.
“The classes are nothing short of amazing. I guess the hardest thing is that I want to take them all, but I can only be in one place at a time,” said Oli Maughan.
A good example of these intensive sessions came courtesy of instructor Zoe Pappas and her 90 minute class called: Vinyasa and Music: Power of The Voice.
Pappas, who regularly teaches at Core Power Yoga in Kahala, imparted lessons that combined breathing exercises and physical strength all to the soothing sounds of live music to make it a perfect setting for participants and watchers.
Pappas, who also sang and opened the yoga session with a wonderful rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”, concentrated her teachings on living in the moment and achieving inner harmony.
The event culminated with a peaceful “Namaste” repeated outloud by a very physically spent, but satisfied class.
By night the celebration turned its focus to music with the performances of John Cruz, Soul Fire, and Michael Franti and friends.
A true highlight of this festival has been the camaraderie of those in attendance who all seem to be enjoying every second of the event.
