(Honolulu)– Hawaiian Airlines has announced the appointment of Jun Tsuruta to the position of senior director – maintenance procurement. In his new position, Tsuruta oversees the sourcing, negotiation and purchasing of aircraft inventory, supplies and services for Hawaiian.
“Jun’s extensive experience in aviation materiel and procurement strengthens our capabilities in support of Hawaiian’s continuing growth and expansion,” said Tom Wessner, Hawaiian Airlines vice president, strategic procurement.
Tsuruta brings more than 25 years of experience in airline operations, MRO (maintenance, repair and operations) and procurement to Hawaiian. Most recently, he served as senior procurement project manager at Gulfstream Aerospace. His extensive background also includes serving as director supply chain/strategic sourcing at Lockheed Martin and senior director, technical purchasing and supplier management at Continental Airlines.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in communications from Catawba College in North Carolina and Master of Business Administration degree from Texas A&M University.
