(Kaneohe)– Paliku Theatre at Windward Community College will hold auditions for the fall musical Les Miserables, directed by Ron Bright, today and Tuesday nights, June 24 and 25, starting at 6 p.m. at Paliku Theatre. The Broadway musical written by Boublil and Schonberg will run from September 20, 2013 through at least October 20.
No roles have been pre-cast, are open to any community players, and there are principal roles for younger actors as well. The musical is sung through and is filled with instantly recognizable and memorable songs. Auditioners should be familiar with the show and come prepared with a memorized Broadway song that shows their range and pitch control. Please bring sheet music for the accompanist; no a capella or karaoke will be permitted.
Principal adult roles include Jean Valjean, Inspector Javert, Fantine, Monsieur and Madame Thenardier, Cosette, Marius, Eponine, Enjolras and many more adults with featured solos. Child roles include Young Cosette (girl), Young Eponine (girl) and Gavroche (boy). The ensemble is large, strong and plays many roles.
Rehearsals will begin the first week in July and run through opening on September 20. Rehearsal days are typically Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights and Saturday days.
