(Maui)– Medicare Fraud Prevention town hall meetings entitled “Protect, Detect, Report” are scheduled this month on Lana`i and Maui.
The Lana`i meeting is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, February 25 at the Lana`i Senior center at 309 Seventh Street inLana`i City.
The Maui meeting is set for 9 a.m. to 12 p.m,Saturday, March 3 at the Maui WaenaIntermediate School dining hall, located at 795 Onehee Avenue in Kahului.
The meetings will be conducted in English and Ilokano, and will focus on letting Medicare card holders know what to do if their card is stolen, who to call if fraud occurs and how to protect their card from future thefts. Refreshments will be served.
The meetings are sponsored by the Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) program of the Hawai`i State Executive Office on Aging; the Office of Language Access, State of Hawai`i; and the Maui County Office on Aging through a grant from the US Administration on Aging. The Lana`i meeting is a collaboration among the above organizations, as well as the Lana`iSenior Center and the Lana`i Filipino Community Council
Those with special needs who wish to attend the meeting are asked to please call the Office on Aging at 270-7755 a week before the meeting they wish to attend.
