Julie Hussey: Director of Emergency Services at The Queen’s Medical Center – West O‘ahu

(Honolulu)– The Queen’s Medical Center (QMC) has named Julie Hussey as Director of Emergency Services at The Queen’s Medical Center – West O‘ahu.
Hussey will be responsible for directing the Emergency Department for The Queen’s Medical Center -West O‘ahu, ensuring an efficient and collaborative Emergency Department, and upholding a safe and high-quality patient care environment.
Hussey is a trained Emergency Room nurse who worked at The Queen’s Medical Center for many years. She left for a brief period where she worked at Terre Haute Regional Hospital in the Cardiopulmonary Rehab Department.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a minor in Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University.
Jenny A. Papacek: Director of Surgical Services at The Queen’s Medical Center – West O‘ahu.
Jenny A. Papacek has also been named Director of Surgical Services at The Queen’s Medical Center – West O‘ahu.
Papacek will be responsible for directing Surgical Services which includes Pre-& Post-Operative, Operating Room, Post – Anesthesia Care Unit, Endoscopy, and Central Processing. Her duties include ensuring an efficient and collaborative surgical department and upholding a safe and high-quality patient care environment.
Papacek has extensive experience in Perioperative and Same Day Surgery. She most recently served as the Director of Perioperative Services at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center (part of Banner Health) in Phoenix, Arizona. Prior to that, she held a variety of positions with Dignity Health (formerly Catholic Healthcare West).
Papacek was born and raised in London, England and came to the United States where she pursued her education in nursing. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and her Master’s Degree in Nursing Leadership from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. Papacek is also credentialed as a Certified Perioperative Nurse.

Our goal is to build an active and vibrant presence in West Oahu to serve this large and growing community, and to fulfill the mission of our founders, Queen Emma and King Kamehameha IV, to provide in perpetuity quality health care services to Native Hawaiians and all of the people of Hawaii.”
Queen’s officially acquired the former Hawaii Medical Center (HMC)West campus from St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawaii on Friday, December 14, 2012.
The campus has been named The Queen’s Medical Center – West O‘ahu. Queen’s plans to open the hospital in Spring, 2014.
