(Maui)– The Maui County Office on Aging announced it will offer an EnhanceFitness® Instructor Training in February 2014. EnhanceFitness® is an award-winning, evidence-based fitness program for older adults.
The program is designed to be safe and effective for seniors with a wide range of physical abilities. Ongoing EnhanceFitness® classes meet one hour, three times a week at various locations around Maui County. Fitness assessments are conducted on a regular basis.
To be eligible for the instructor training, new instructors must already be certified by a nationally recognized fitness organization such as ACSM, ACE, AFAA or the YMCA, and have a current CPR/AED card. The 12-hour training will be held at Kaunoa Senior Center on Friday, Feb. 7 from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 8 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cost is $40.
