(Kauai)–In an effort to improve bus service, the Transportation Agency will be implementing changes to several weekday mainline routes in about two weeks.
The changes are scheduled to take effect on Jan. 20.
One change will be the addition of a 5:30 a.m. bus on Route 200, Lîhu’e to Kekaha, departing from Wal-Mart.
The first bus on Route 500, Lîhu’e to Hanalei, which currently leaves Kaua’i Community College at 5:55 a.m., will be replaced by a 5:25 a.m. bus.
The 7:45 a.m. bus on Route 400, Hanalei to Lîhu’e, will be eliminated due to low ridership. Passengers on that bus will have the option of riding either the 7:15 or the 8:15 a.m. bus.
A complete listing of all bus routes can be found on The Kaua’i Bus website, www.kauai.gov/transportation.
Printed bus schedules are available on all county buses and The Kaua’i Bus office located in Lîhu’e at 3220 Ho‘olako Street.
