(Honolulu)– Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, a charity that raises vital funds and awareness for 170 member hospitals, proudly announces Stacey Acma, Director of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at Kapi`olani Medical Center for Women &Children, as its Hospital Person of the Year. Acma was presented the McLane-sponsored Stephanie Melemis Award during the charity’s 30th annual Celebration held at the Walt Disney World® Resort Oct. 10-12, 2013.
Since becoming Director of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals fundraising program for the State of Hawai‘i in 2004, Acma has worked diligently and innovatively to increase life-saving donations, which to-date has raised more than $10 million for Hawaii’s only member CMN Hospital and State’s only pediatric specialty hospital serving children and their families throughout the Pacific Region. Acma’s fundraising success is a result of fostering local individual, corporate and retail partnerships, as well as implementing new programs and donor outreach tactics.
In 2012, Acma was recognized with the Most Innovative Practice Award from CMN Hospitals national for local Radiothon and donor engagement efforts. In addition to overseeing Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals fundraising, she acts as the Director of Philanthropy Annual Giving for the Foundations of Hawai‘i Pacific Health.

She’s the classic definition of a go-getter, someone who translates workable fundraising concepts into exceptional results,” said John Lauck, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals president and CEO.
“Her tireless efforts are increasingly felt in the hospital halls of Kapi`olani with each of her past nine years. We’d also like recognize our long-time corporate partner McLane for underwriting our Hospital Person of the Year Award, and their donation of $10,000 to Kapi`olani in Stacey’s honor,” Lauck added.
