(Honolulu)– The City and County of Honolulu has once again been named to Forbes’ distinguished “Best-in-State Employers” list, ranking #1 for government services and #7 overall in Hawaiʻi in 2024. This is the fourth year in a row that the City and County of Honolulu has been acknowledged with a coveted placement on this authoritative index.
“This recognition is a tribute to the City’s enduring commitment to create a welcoming and vibrant workplace where all employees can thrive and truly feel appreciated for their hard work,” said Mayor Rick Blangiardi. “Our Department leaders have also done an extraordinary job uniting our City team behind a meaningful purpose: restoring trust and confidence in City government through action and deed. I am so proud of the progress our entire team has made toward that, because it takes an untold amount of work by everyone, day in and day out, to make that happen.”
In addition to a purposeful and relentless effort to promote a positive work environment, the City and County of Honolulu has ramped up its recruiting and hiring efforts, slashing the time it takes to hire new employees in half since 2022.
