(HONOLULU) – The City and County of Honolulu will begin work on the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Erosional Improvements at Meheula Ditch Access Road on October 29, 2025, at the Meheula Ditch site along Lanikuhana Avenue in Mililani. Construction will take place on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for approximately nine months.
The project includes clearing and grubbing, site grading, limited tree removal, and installation of aggregate access roads, concrete curbs, access slabs, and a permanent high-performance lining mat to prevent erosion and protect surrounding drainage channels.
Intermittent truck traffic in and out of the job site may cause minor delays; however, no road closures or detours are anticipated. Motorists are advised to drive with caution in the area. A traffic flow map showing the access route and job site staging plan is available for reference.
Some dust and noise are expected during construction. The contractor will implement mitigation measures to minimize these impacts and will restore the job site to its prior condition or better upon completion.
The City appreciates the public’s patience, cooperation, and support as we work to improve critical stormwater infrastructure and safeguard our community.
