(HONOLULU) – Mayor Rick Blangiardi has requested the Pride flag be raised outside the Frank F. Fasi Municipal Building throughout the month of October to mark Honolulu Pride Month.
Mayor Blangiardi also requested that Honolulu Hale be lit in the rainbow colors of the Pride flag from sundown on Sunday, October 15 through sunrise on Saturday, October 21, 2023. To cap that week, the Mayor’s office and dozens of city employees and their families will be participating in the Honolulu Pride Parade and Festival on October 21st. The 2023 Honolulu Pride Parade begins at 9 a.m. and runs from Magic Island to Kapi‘olani Park. The theme for 2023 Honolulu Pride is “Rooted in Pride: Homecoming.”
“Each year, Honolulu Pride Month gives us the opportunity to uplift our LGBTQ+ family, friends, coworkers, and neighbors,” said Mayor Rick Blangiardi. “It also marks a moment for us to come together, celebrate our advances, take stock of the setbacks, and reaffirm our commitment for greater unity, visibility and equality throughout the City and County of Honolulu.”
