(Maui)– The County of Maui Department of Environmental Management, Environmental Protection and Sustainability Division, announced that its E-Cycling program will hold a holiday clean-up day on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017 from 9 a.m. to noon. The holiday clean-up will be held in addition to the program’s usual schedule.
The E-Cycling program is located at 901 Lower Main Street in Wailuku, down the street from Home Maid Bakery. E-Cycling’s regular hours are Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Tuesdays from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. E-Cycling will not be open on Saturday, December 24.
Items accepted at the E-Cycling program include computers, televisions, microwaves, cell phones, stereos, copiers, fax machines and other items with circuit boards. The service is provided free of charge; the public is asked to be courteous by not leaving any items at the gate after hours.
This program, which is funded by the County and operated by Habitat for Humanity, ships out four to five 40-foot containers every month to a mainland electronics processor for recycling.
