(Hawaii)– The University Center, West Hawai‘i at Pālamanui will host a Degree Preparation Workshop at the new Hawai‘i Community College – Pālamanui (Hawai‘i CC – Pālamanui) campus on Thursday, February 18 from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
The University Center is a gateway for residents of West Hawai‘i to undertake programs from other University of Hawai‘i campuses while continuing to live in West Hawai‘i. The Center delivers over 40 bachelor’s and graduate degree and certificate programs from campuses such as Mānoa, Hilo and West O‘ahu.
Programs from other UH campuses enroll and deliver courses to students in West Hawai’i using a combination of formats including: online any-time; site-to-site real-time interactive video conferencing; and face-to-face participation. Local students have the advantage of using the campus-based resources and support at Hawai‘i CC – Pālamanui (library, counseling, student activities) plus the opportunity to access an entire spectrum of degrees.
At the Degree Preparation Workshop students can learn what degrees are offered in West Hawai‘i; the necessary steps to move forward; key deadlines; methods of program delivery; what it takes to be a successful student; and more.
