(Honolulu) – First Insurance Company of Hawaii (FICOH) is pleased to announce two officer appointments: Janis Kushimi – assistant vice president of Human Resources (HR), and Melissa Current – assistant vice president of Surety & Fidelity.
Kushimi has more than 20 years of HR experience in Hawaii. Prior to joining FICOH in May 2013 as HR manager, she served as director of corporate human resources at The Queen’s Health Systems. In her first year at FICOH, she has built solid relationships with managers and associates throughout the company and with our fellow Tokio Marine North America group companies. Kushimi earned an MBA from the UH Shidler College of Business and has also earned a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification.
Current was hired as executive underwriter in Surety & Fidelity in November 2009 and was promoted to manager in February 2010. She has 15 years of surety experience in Hawaii and on the mainland, including at The Insco Dico Group, Safeco, ICW Group and The Hartford. Current graduated with a BS in Business Accounting from the University of Phoenix.
