(Honolulu)- Nightmare’s Live presentation of Nightmare Circus at the Dole Cannery is truly a well done production that provides scares and shrieks to perfection.
The brainchild of nightmare makers Kristine Wada and Kevin Okada, this year’s production features a circus themed maze that is sure to scare young and old alike. “Making sure our guests have a scary time is something we take very seriously,” said Okada who also serves as the co-owner of Nightmares Live, which was recently featured on the Travel Channel show “Making Monsters.”
At the attraction, guests will find their way through a long maze of in-your-face terror complete with live actors, top-notch props and costumes, intense audio and horror movie set designs. This very creepy production uses about 20 to 22 actors who do a very good job in scaring guests by using the elements of surprise and fear.
The maze features many scary clowns, props and lighting effects to enhance the mood and make this one of the best Halloween attractions in Honolulu. “During the off season, we do a total re-haul of the haunted house which includes creating new sets with new props and creating all new costumes for our actors. We employ a year-round crew who is dedicated and who has the passion for Halloween and haunted houses,” Okada explained.
The labyrinth is well built and dark at times, which only adds to the experience and is sure to produce bloodcurdling screams. Okada explained that this scary clown concept was conceived about a year ago and that he is already starting to plan the idea for the maze in 2013. “We work really hard to give people a chilling time.”
With the nearing of the holidays, Okada and Wada even combined an element of Christmas into the terrifying experience that is sure remain one of the most talked about Halloween attractions.
