(Hawaii)–The week ahead looks to be near normal as high pressure north of the Hawaiian Islands will continue to support a trade wind pattern through the new work week. The strength of the trades will mainly be moderate, and the showers will favor the windward and mountain areas. The frequency of these showers will be higher during the nights and mornings. The leeward districts of the smaller islands will generally be dry.
Forecasting for the Kona side has been tricky lately, but we do expect a slight uptick in afternoon and evening showers for the rest of the week. For the Big Island, look for afternoon clouds covering the two summits.
