(Honolulu)– Kaiser Permanente Hawaii announced that Shawn Mehta has been named Vice President, Health Plan Service and Administration for the state’s largest integrated health care organization. In his new role, Mehta will provide strategic and operational leadership related to new systems capabilities and competencies in Hawaii that are essential to meeting the changing needs of customers and the new requirements of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
Most recently, Mehta served as Vice President, Operations, Kaiser Permanente Insurance Company based at the organization’s Oakland, Calif. headquarters. Prior to that, Mehta led Kaiser Permanente’s Self-Funding Program in California, responsible for planning, designing and implementing self-funded capabilities. Before joining Kaiser Permanente, he served several years with Accenture and Deloitte, advising clients in the consumer products, pharmacy, retail and manufacturing industries.
Mehta holds a bachelor of arts degree in finance and international business from Indiana University.
