(Kauai)– Starting today, May 8, Kaua‘i bus passes will not be sold at the Lāwa‘i Menehune Food Mart due to the impending closure of the store.
The bus passes will continue to be available for sale at the other Menehune Food Mart locations including Kīlauea, Kapahi, and Kekaha.
Monthly bus passes can be purchased for $35 apiece at the food marts via cash transactions only. Their hours of operation are as follows:
-Kīlauea – 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday to Friday; 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday and Sunday
-Kapahi – 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., daily, with shorter hours on major holidays including – Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
-Kekaha – 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday to Saturday; 5 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday
Additionally, the monthly bus passes are available for sale at Pono Market in Kapa‘a and at the Līhu’e Civic Center, Kapulē Building, Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., except on holidays.
Another option is to purchase a one-month ($35) or an annual ($350) bus pass at The Kaua’i Bus office located on Ho‘olako St. across from police headquarters.
